Fiber Intensive with Dyeing & Weaving
Join the NÅDE designer and owner, Maggie Pate, for a 3-day and 2-night fiber intensive as we explore the bygone craft culture of textiles.
This workshop is about grounding yourself in old traditions of textiles that have long been abandoned. Natural dyeing is labor of love - so be prepared to get your hands dirty. At this workshop you will receive hands on instruction about natural dyes and other long forgotten elements of craft culture.
The dyes we are planning to cover are indigo, avocado hearts (food waste dyeing), and osage orange (regional dye). Along with dyeing with both cellulose fiber and protein fibers. Guests will be dyeing cotton and wool skeins of yarn, organic gauze cotton, as well as silk!
You'll learn the basics of weaving and be able to utilize some naturally dyed yarn that you'll create during the workshop! You will leave with their own lap looms and weaving supplies so you can continue crafting at home.
All Breakfast & Lunch will be provided. Plus we plan to sprinkle in a few surprises!
